High profile Ethereum NFT collection CyberKongz will launch a proportion of its forthcoming anime-style Genkai NFTs on Sky Mavis’ Ronin blockchain.
It will also migrate its Play & Kollect on-chain community, in which users can find, mint and collect NFTs, from Polygon to Ronin, and work with Sky Mavis to develop a Genkai-themed game, also on Ronin.
There will be a total supply of 20,000 Genkai NFTs, with 4,000 to be minted on Ronin and 16,000 NFTs on Ethereum, with Ethereum assets having a smooth voluntary migration path to Ronin. As part of the 4,000 native Ronin NFTs, each of the roughly 1,000 Axie Mystic holder will be airdropped a Genkai.
The Genkai NFT mint starts on Thursday 27th July at 4pm UTC for listed wallets, with the public sale kicking off at 8pm UTC if any supply remains. The price for all mints is 0.25 ETH. Existing CyberKongz holders will be airdropped a Genkai, albeit controlled by a 180-day vesting period.
The partnership with Ronin also plays into CyberKongz’ aim for the Genkai collection to engage with collectors in Asia.
“By partnering with Sky Mavis we are embarking on a unique opportunity to accelerate our already established gaming ecosystem, while also enabling an expansion of our holder base. Genkai is the first non-pixel artwork I have created for CyberKongz and will represent our growth as a project to expand our IP into the southeast Asian and Japanese markets,” commented CyberKongz founder and artist, Myoo.
“Additionally, CyberKongz will be working with Ronin to develop a game featuring Genkai. This ambitious venture will seek to alter the paradigm of web3 IP in a gamified manner.”
