EA Sports makes the leap into NFTs by integrating Nike’s .SWOOSH platform

Nike’s metaverse division Nike Virtual Studios has partnered with game publisher EA Sports to integrate Nike’s NFT platform .Swoosh — which remains in closed beta — into EA Sports’ portfolio, although no particular game titles have been mentioned.

Bringing together two of the biggest names in sports entertainment, this collaboration is EA’s first official attempt at integrating blockchain into its experiences.

The result will see some .Swoosh’s NFTs available in game in terms of player customization.

“Working with .SWOOSH, we’ll bring creativity and self-expression to the forefront for fans as they connect, compete and share their love for sport,” commented EA SPORTS & Racing’s SVP of brand Andrea Hopelain.

General manager at Nike Virtual Studios Ron Faris added, “Nike and EA SPORTS share a commitment to innovation, creativity, and excellence, and we are thrilled to partner with them. This partnership will allow us to unlock some incredible new experiences for our .SWOOSH community and the massive EA SPORTS fan base.”
