During Web3 Game Unplugged, an event co-hosted by Animoca Brands, Planetarium and IntellaX as part of Korea Blockchain Week, blockchain game publisher Planetarium revealed two new RPGs are joining its portfolio: Verse8 and Immortal Rising 2.
Renown for its PC onchain RPG Nine Chronicles, one of the most popular blockchain games, Planetarium has now announced it’s working with XLGames CEO Jake Song on Verse8.
Described as an open source decentralized platform for making UGC for roguelike RPGs, Verse8 is looking to offer a new perspective on online RPGs.
“Verse8 champions the spirit of decentralization, ensuring content creation is democratized, paving the way for a diverse multiplayer world,” says Song.
Planetarium also offered a preview of Immortal Rising 2, a web3 sequel to the highly popular idle mobile RPG Immortal Rising 1. Looking to integrate new web3 elements such as self-balancing tokenomics and a dynamic guild warfare system, Immortal Rising 2 will feature strong guild-based competitive gameplay.
Alan Lau, chief business officer of Animoca Brands, which invested in Planetarium Labs, said, “Immortal Rising 2 is tangible proof of what we can do when passion, innovation, and collaboration come together. I’m looking forward to this new Web3 title in Planetarium Labs’ portfolio.”
