Originally launching as an Avalanche-based blockchain, Lamina1 has now hooked up with Consensys’ zkEVM L2 blockchain Linea as it looks to push forward its founding vision.
Notable, the first initiative to be announced for Linea is Spaces, which will be home for interactive stories and creator-controlled IP.
And the first project in Spaces will be author Neal Stephenson’s Artefact, something that’s described as “a role-playing experience in a post-AI world”. It will enable players to join competing factions, collect data fragments and shape the unfolding narrative.
Stephenson was one of the original founders of Lamina1 when it was first announced in 2022.
The partnership between Lamina1 and Linea is backed by additional investment from Systematic Ventures and Consensys CEO Joe Lubin.
“Neal Stephenson is one of the leading figures in cyberpunk,” Lubin said. “Lamina1 is now perfectly positioned to be at the forefront of the onchain revolution in content creation.”
