First game to use WAX’s new simple Cloud Wallet is Prospectors
EOS-based blockchain gets its big launch
Following its successful launch on EOS, wild west economy simulator Prospectors has now also launched on the WAX blockchain.
It’s the first of what are expected to be a number of games coming to the EOS.IO-based technology.
The WAX Cloud Wallet is part of our continuing effort to make blockchain easy for everyone.
Indeed, the timing is good for WAX, given the congestion on EOS thanks to the EIDOS airdrop shows no signs of stopping and has made many EOS-based games unplayable.
Easy to play
Aside from this advantage, the main unique selling point for WAX as a blockchain for dapps is its ease of onboarding.
Users can create an account for free with an email and password or login using their existing accounts ranging from Facebook, Google and Twitter, to Steam, Reddit, VK, Line or Kakao.
Once a login is created and verified, a WAX Cloud Wallet is then created for it, which has sufficient tokens staked to enable players to interact with games to a sufficient extent.
If they want to really grind, however, this is the point at which they will have to buy and stake their own WAX tokens to gain enough network access to the blockchain to play at a higher frequency.
This process contrasts with what’s required to set up an EOS account from scratch; notably you either need to already own EOS or to pay to get a third party to set up an account for you.
You also have to be able to handle your own private keys; something that’s optional using the WAX Cloud Wallet.
“The WAX Cloud Wallet is part of our continuing effort to make blockchain easy for everyone,” explained WAX co-founder William Quigley.
“We’ve made it as easy to use as logging into your Amazon account. You can create a blockchain account in two clicks. You don’t have to download MetaMask, or some other crypto wallet to use a WAX dapp.”
