CryptoKitties introduces new code of ethics for staff
“We recognize that our stewardship of CryptoKitties is subject to justified scrutiny.”
As any system becomes larger and more sophisticated, so too does the conduct upon which it’s used.
This lesson is one that Cryptokitties has recently been a testament to, as it introduces its brand new code of ethics.
From the outset, the development team made it clear that it sought to ensure balance and transparency were sustained, with no-one being exempt from the rules.
“But regardless of the precautions we’ve taken, we recognize that our stewardship of CryptoKitties is subject to justified scrutiny.”
As a result of this, the team has officially formalized its code of ethics, making them readily available to the community to ensure accountability.
Some of these codes include:
- Team members must not buy or sell Kitties outside of transparent, decentralized marketplaces such as the official CryptoKitties marketplace.
- Team members must not make any public assessments or predictions about the monetary value of any present or future Kitties using privileged information for personal gain.
- Team members must not buy or breed Kitties for the purpose of chasing one of the first 50 of a limited edition Fancy.
- Team members must not buy or breed Kitties for the purpose of uncovering mutation jewels.
