Ultra reveals exclusive PC FPS Project Citadel

PC-based blockchain gaming platform Ultra has revealed Project Citadel, a first person shooter that is building on the Ultra blockchain. Created by veterans from Activision Blizzard, Ubisoft, Epic Games, and 343 Industries, the game is due sometime in 2024.

Since launching its PC game store in April 2023, Ultra has onboarded dozens of web2 and web3 games to its platform. As the first title to be announced building natively on Ultra’s own blockchain, Project Citadel will also be the first of its kind to launch exclusively on the Ultra hub, which should allow it to leverage features such as Ultra’s NFT marketplace and Arena esports hub.

As for the game itself, very few details have been released but some of the early footage seems reminiscent of the Halo franchise, although the mode seems to be more multiplayer deathmatch.

Earlier this week Ultra announced the first tradable PC game on its platform, web2 beat-’em up title Josh Journey.
