Animoca Brands teams up with Formula One to build blockchain-backed F1 game
This partnership means that one of the most popular sports will be delving into the world of blockchain
Formula One hosts millions of spectators and countless sponsors, from DHL to Heineken, making any partnership a valuable one. All the more good news as Animoca Brands announces that it’s teaming up with F1 to bring the racing action to the blockchain world.
The game itself, called ‘F1 Delta Time’ will be making use of NFTs to merge the worlds of collectibles and high-octane racing together. According to the team, these game styles will be brought out separately, with the NFTs component launching first.
Based on the intellectual property of F1, Delta Time’s range of NFTs will officially be launched on May 10th. And being one of the most recognizable brands in the sporting world, Animoca CEO, Yat Siu is glad to provide blockchain and greater visibility to the game.
“Securing a partnership to make blockchain games with Formula 1 – one of the most recognized brands in sport – is a notable achievement,” Siu continues.
“We will leverage Formula 1’s considerable global reach to drive product uptake and revenue growth as together we seek to increase consumer exposure to blockchain.”
